Ginger Smith is a genetic genealogist who specializes in using DNA testing to learn more about your family history. She holds a BS in Biology and an MLS in Library and Information Sciences. She has been doing both genealogy research and using DNA to help break down brick walls for several years. She helps adoptees and people interested in using DNA to break down their brick walls or learn more about their family history. She also performs genealogy research in the south eastern states. In addition to performing genealogy research and DNA consulting, she also lectures and gives workshops on various topics.
Ginger volunteers as the Secretary of the North Carolina Genealogical Society (NCGS), President, webmaster, and journal editor of the Durham and Orange County Genealogical Society (D-OGS), administers two Y-DNA projects on FamilyTreeDNA, and administers a Facebook group for Godwin DNA cousins to share family history, photos, and DNA match results. She is active in the online DNA-Adoption listserve, answering questions about DNA testing and is a member of the International Society of Genetic Genealogy (ISOGG). She is also a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG).
